Below is a leaked video clip of former Ogun Head of State, General Oladipo Diya, prostrating at the feet of General Sani Abacha, crying and pleading with the late head of state over allegations of a 1997 coup.
General Diya was questioned by the Human Rights Violations Commission (HRVIC) about the 1997 coup plot to overthrow General Sanni Abacha. He strongly denied involvement in the plan, but admitted knowing about it. He further stated that he feared that he would be killed by the coup’s main organizer if he revealed the plan. He denied making any demands on General Sanni Abacha but was shocked when he saw a video of him kneeling before General Sanni Abacha as requested by the lawyer.
