After the initial vision that resulted in the establishment of Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW), formerly known as Liberation Faith Hour Ministries, in 1981, this photo was shot.
Two years later, on September 17, 1983, David and his wife Florence Abiola Akano, also known as Faith Abiola Oyedepo, were ordained as pastors and the new church was formally commissioned by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Oyedepo’s life mentor, consecrated him as a bishop five years later. Living Faith Church (also known as Winners Chapel International) was founded in Kaduna, but in July 1989, Oyedepo claimed to have received instructions from God to establish a new branch in Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria.
